72 year-old Lady With Lower Abdominal Pain And Rectal Bleeding

Wednesday, 25 April 2012

A 72 year old lady presented with a three month history of colicky lower abdominal pain and rectal bleeding. Rectal and sigmoidoscopic examinations were unremarkable. A barium enema was requested. This image is from a barium enema series.

How do you describe the radiological finding? What is the diagnosis?

Answer : The appearances are typical of a colonic carcinoma. There is an irregular filling defect resembling apple-core appearance. Benign strictures have smooth and tapering edges.

That's too much pain. I've been to that kind of condition way back 2011 and it's like hell. My stomach cancer treatments center was so worried back then because mine's was definitely hurtful. Thankful that God saved me from that pain.
